My diagnosis of Breast Cancer at 42 years old shocked me to the core. I felt way too young, my son was only 4 years old at the time. Thankfully we had medical insurance and upon hearing my diagnosis which required mastectomy and chemotherapy my husband reached out to Richard, our insurance adviser who provided immediate reassurance, guidance, and support. I had not realised at the time but part of our insurance meant that with a diagnosis of cancer I was entitled to a lump sum payout. Richard not only informed us of this but went above and beyond to ensure that I received this payout which was a substantial amount. As you can imagine it was unbelievable and it did not sink in until Richard met up with me to sign over the payout.
The funds really helped with paying off extra bills and taking the pressure off financially. I perhaps should have put the rest of the money towards the mortgage, but I didn’t, I thought well I want something to look forward too after surgery and cruelling chemo treatments. I had not long got into learning how to sail so I bought a yacht with the rest of the money! I now enjoy summers sailing with my family and friends living my life.
Myself, husband, and family are and will forever be truly grateful to Richard for his ongoing support throughout my entire journey and still to this day.
